(DN) – On August 14, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long met with a delegation from Central Retail Vietnam Group (Thailand), led by CEO Olivier Bernard R. LANGLET, to discuss the group's operations and investment plans in Dong Nai.

At the meeting, Mr. Olivier Bernard R. LANGLET and several members of the delegation exchanged information with city leaders regarding the group's operations in Vietnam in general and Dong Nai City in particular. To date, Central Retail Vietnam Group has invested USD 1.5 billion in Vietnam through its GO! shopping mall and mini-supermarket chains. In Dong Nai, the group has invested in two shopping malls and two mini-supermarkets, with a total investment capital of USD 80 million, creating jobs for more than 800 workers.

In addition, the leadership of Central Retail Vietnam Group also raised opinions and made proposals to city leaders regarding administrative procedures, planning information, and locations where shopping malls and mini-supermarkets could be developed. The group expressed its wish for the city to pay attention and provide support so that it can continue investing in Dong Nai, contributing to the development of the local retail system.

Speaking at the meeting, Member of the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long said that Dong Nai is one of the country's leading industrially developed localities. Dong Nai currently has 89 planned industrial parks with a total area of more than 43.3 thousand hectares; it also possesses a river system along with many large hydropower and irrigation reservoirs. The city is oriented to become a modern industrial-service urban area, a logistics and high-tech center of the Southeast region and the country; prioritizing the attraction of projects in high technology, biotechnology, new materials, green energy, etc.; while developing an innovation ecosystem associated with Long Thanh International Airport, the Southeast region's logistics system, and new-generation industrial parks.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long said that the group is a major retailer in Thailand, owning a network of leading brands and providing products across various sectors through multiple models such as department stores, convenience stores, specialty stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets, shopping malls, and online shopping through omnichannel platforms in Thailand, Vietnam, and Italy.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee highly appreciated the group's operations in Dong Nai, with its GO! Shopping Mall system—one of the most modern shopping mall systems in the locality—as well as several mini-supermarket projects in Nhon Trach and shopping malls and office-for-lease projects. Central Retail Vietnam Group's projects not only contribute to transforming the modern and professional retail sector, but also create direct and indirect employment opportunities for thousands of workers, further affirming its role as a retail destination developing alongside the local community and contributing to the city's socio-economic development.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long expressed his expectation that the meeting would not only provide an opportunity for both sides to exchange information and share orientations, but also serve as an opportunity for the city and the group to expand cooperation. With appropriate vision and strategy, the two sides will achieve new successes and create sustainable development values for both parties.
