(ĐN) – On August 14, Dong Nai City Political School held a seminar on the current situation of digital economy development in Dong Nai City.

The seminar was co-chaired by Phan Xuan Linh, Principal of Dong Nai City Political School, and Nguyen Minh Quang, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai City Department of Science and Technology. The event was attended by experts from the Ministry of Finance, leaders of relevant departments and agencies, and scientists from across the city.

Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Phan Xuan Linh, Principal of Dong Nai City Political School, said that amid the strong development of digital transformation, the digital economy plays an important role in the new growth model, contributing to improving productivity, quality, and the competitiveness of the economy.

The seminar was of practical significance, contributing to an overall assessment of the digital economy development process in Dong Nai City. At the seminar, delegates and scientists focused on clarifying the context of digital transformation and assessing the current status of digital economy development, including its contribution to GRDP/GDP, digital infrastructure, digital enterprises, and more. At the same time, they identified bottlenecks in institutions and human resources and proposed key solutions and strategies for developing the digital economy in Dong Nai City in the coming period.

The seminar received 25 papers from experts, scientists, and departments and agencies on digital economy development. At the seminar, experts, scientists, representatives of several departments and agencies, and technology enterprises presented papers on topics such as the contribution of the digital economy to Dong Nai's economy during the 2021-2025 period; forecasts of digital economy development trends and several solutions for developing the digital economy in Dong Nai City; and identification of opportunities and challenges for digital economy development in Dong Nai City today.

In addition, there were papers on digital transformation in parallel with green transformation, sustainable agricultural and rural development in Dong Nai City through 2030; and the role of the “three parties” (the State, technology enterprises, and people and businesses) in developing the digital economy in Dong Nai.

In his closing remarks, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai City Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Minh Quang emphasized that the opinions presented at the seminar provided a relatively comprehensive picture of the digital economy development process in Dong Nai during the 2021-2025 period. At the same time, they showed that the potential of Dong Nai's digital economy is currently much greater than the results achieved. The digital economy will become a new growth driver for the city, contributing to improving labor productivity, the competitiveness of businesses, the quality of life of residents, and the effectiveness of state governance.

The leadership of the Department of Science and Technology expressed confidence that Dong Nai City Political School will continue to coordinate with agencies and organizations, experts, and scientists to conduct further in-depth research into the theoretical and practical issues surrounding the digital economy; particularly issues concerning digital economy measurement, digital economy development policies, data governance, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital human resource development.
