Not only bringing together farmers with outstanding achievements in production, farmer clubs for excellent production and business in Dong Nai City are gradually becoming platforms for networking, sharing experiences, and supporting one another in production development.

From regular meetings and model visits to trade promotion activities, many effective approaches and successful models are being shared, helping farmers shift from individual production toward a more connected mindset, increase the value of agricultural products, and better adapt to the market.

Linking Agricultural Production to Market Distribution

Agricultural production today is no longer simply based on experience. Farmers are increasingly concerned with cultivation techniques, product quality, food safety, traceability, and especially market access. Therefore, bringing successful farmers together in clubs creates an environment for exchanging knowledge, learning, and supporting one another.

At the clubs, practical experience from fields and farms is exchanged and shared among members. Experienced farmers guide newcomers, while effective models are introduced for members to study and apply according to their own production conditions.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Vi, Chairman of the Excellent Farmer Production and Business Club in Tan Quan Commune, said the club is becoming a bridge connecting farmers, cooperatives, businesses, and experts, contributing to stronger links in agricultural production and distribution. The club supports production chains, traceability, growing-area codes, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, and product purchasing contracts. It also supplies microbial preparations, transfers earthworm composting models, connects the distribution of around 30 tons of pomelos during Tet, and promotes durian purchasing. The club also organizes study tours and experience-sharing visits to help members improve their knowledge and production efficiency.

Similarly, the Excellent Farmer Production and Business Club in Xuan Bac Commune, with more than 20 members, regularly holds meetings to exchange production experience. Discussions focus not only on productivity and output but also on practical issues such as crop care, pest control, appropriate fertilizer use, seed selection, safe production processes, and cost reduction.

According to Mr. Tran Minh Tan, Director of Xuan Bac Ecological Cooperative and Chairman of the Excellent Farmer Production and Business Club in Xuan Bac Commune, the club aims to bring together successful farmers from businesses, cooperatives, and cooperative groups across various fields to exchange experience, link products, and create stable markets.

“Government agencies, especially the Farmers’ Association, always accompany the club in various aspects, from technical training to organizing activities to expand markets for agricultural products. As a result, the club is attracting more members and is expected to continue developing further in all areas,” Mr. Tran Minh Tan said.

Improving Operational Effectiveness

Beyond being places for networking and sharing experiences, excellent farmer production and business clubs are being oriented to become a core force in developing the local agricultural economy.

According to Deputy Chairman in charge of the City Farmers’ Association Nguyen Van Giang, in response to the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign “Solidarity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough, Building a Civilized and Modern Dong Nai,” the Standing Committee of the City Farmers’ Association has implemented various activities, with a focus on strengthening and developing excellent farmer production and business clubs. The goal is to build the clubs into a core force for agricultural economic development, support farmers in legitimate wealth creation, promote commodity-oriented production, and apply science, technology, and digital transformation. At the same time, successful farmers are encouraged to support poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in developing their economies.

Club activities are also being focused more deeply on supporting production development and improving members’ capacity. Thematic meetings, science and technology transfers, and guidance on applying advanced production standards such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic standards, and OCOP will be strengthened. Members will also receive support in accessing capital sources for production development, while the application of digital transformation in the management, production, and distribution of agricultural products will be encouraged.

Another important task is connecting farmers with businesses, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and purchasing establishments. Through trade promotion, business connections, and support in developing brands, trademarks, and product packaging, the clubs contribute to establishing production chains linked to stable and sustainable distribution.

“In the coming period, the City Farmers’ Association will continue to maintain and continuously improve the quality and scale of excellent farmer production and business clubs, linking their development with green and circular agriculture standards,” Deputy Chairman in charge of the City Farmers’ Association Nguyen Van Giang added.

Along with this, the City Farmers’ Association will proactively advise Party committees and coordinate with local authorities to organize periodic conferences to honor and reward outstanding clubs and effective linkage models, thereby replicating advanced examples in the excellent farmer production and business movement.

Dong Nai currently has 75 excellent farmer production and business clubs. The target for 2026 is for 100% of commune- and ward-level Farmers’ Associations to establish or strengthen at least one excellent farmer production and business club.
