Dong Nai: Accompanying businesses in developing a modern logistics sector
This was affirmed by a representative of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade at the 2026 meeting of Dong Nai logistics enterprises, organized by the Dong Nai Logistics Association.
Speaking about Dong Nai Province’s logistics development strategy, Mr. Tran Duong Hung, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said Dong Nai is currently among the country’s major economic localities, with a strongly developed industrial base that generates substantial and diverse demand for logistics services.

According to Mr. Hung, Dong Nai currently has 58 industrial parks and 63 industrial clusters, attracting thousands of domestic and foreign projects and generating a key source of goods for the logistics sector. Its transport system has also developed rapidly, with 439 transport companies and nearly 40,000 vehicles, including more than 4,300 container tractors. The province’s seaport infrastructure includes 21 operating ports located along the Dong Nai, Thi Vai and Nha Be rivers.
However, Mr. Hung noted that several limitations remain, including incomplete connectivity infrastructure, high logistics costs, mostly small-scale logistics enterprises, and the absence of a fully integrated and modern logistics ecosystem.
A representative of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade also highlighted the province’s advantages and potential for logistics development, including its strategic location as a trade gateway of the Southeast region with interregional and international connectivity; a synchronized transport infrastructure system; and Long Thanh International Airport, a major driver for high-capacity air logistics in the region. In addition, the province has a large land bank for logistics development, covering hundreds of hectares in Long Thanh, industrial parks and economic zones. These factors create favorable conditions for Dong Nai to become a regional and international logistics hub.
Regarding development orientations and strategies for the coming period, the representative said Dong Nai identifies logistics as a strategic growth-driving infrastructure sector, with six key orientations: first, developing multimodal logistics by combining road, inland waterway, air, seaport and ICD systems; second, forming large-scale logistics centers in Long Thanh, Phuoc An, Bien Hoa and Chon Thanh; third, organizing logistics space under the model of industrial park – logistics center/ICD – seaport/airport; fourth, promoting green logistics, digital transformation and smart warehouses; fifth, strengthening regional connectivity with Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands.
Finally, the province will develop air logistics linked to Long Thanh Airport, with the goal of reducing logistics costs, enhancing competitiveness and participating more deeply in global supply chains.

To promote the effective and sustainable development of Dong Nai’s logistics sector, a representative of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade proposed that the Dong Nai Logistics Association focus on several key tasks:
First, connecting supply chains. The association should serve as a bridge linking logistics enterprises with manufacturing and export businesses, while forming an integrated logistics service network within the province.
Second, participating in policy development. The provincial industry and trade representative proposed that the association proactively recommend mechanisms related to land, logistics infrastructure and logistics centers, while promptly reporting difficulties and obstacles faced by enterprises.
Third, developing human resources. The association should organize specialized training in logistics, digital logistics and green logistics, and cooperate with universities and research institutes to train personnel for the logistics sector.
Fourth, promoting digital transformation and green logistics. The association should support enterprises in applying technology and automation, and encourage transport vehicles to use clean energy.
Fifth, promoting investment and international cooperation. The association should connect with major logistics corporations, organize specialized seminars and forums, and participate in implementing logistics planning. It should also coordinate with state agencies in developing logistics centers and ICDs.
“The Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade is committed to accompanying the Association and the business community in developing the logistics sector toward modernization and sustainability. With outstanding advantages, proper orientation and close coordination, we believe Dong Nai will soon become an important logistics hub of the region and the country,” Mr. Tran Duong Hung emphasized.
