Dong Nai Attracts High-Quality Capital Flows
Recently, many foreign direct investment (FDI) groups have continuously visited Dong Nai to survey and seek investment opportunities in sectors such as industry, trade and services, logistics, real estate, tourism, and high-tech agriculture. This is not coincidental, as FDI investors recognize major opportunities as Long Thanh International Airport is nearing operation. At the same time, expressways, ring roads, and seaports are being synchronously connected. Accordingly, Dong Nai’s advantage no longer lies only in its position as the gateway to the Southeast region, but is also evolving into a new connectivity hub for the entire southern region. Few provinces and cities across the country possess such advantages.
However, infrastructure advantages alone are not enough. What investors are currently concerned about is whether the investment environment is truly favorable. Enterprises also need Dong Nai City to provide clean land funds, fast project documentation and procedures, stable green energy supply, convenient logistics, and supporting services. In particular, the city must be able to meet the demand for high-quality human resources for modern production and business activities. In today’s FDI attraction competition, localities that can create a transparent investment environment, reasonable costs, and strong support for enterprises will hold a clear advantage.
Over the past period, Dong Nai has consistently pursued selective investment attraction. The city prioritizes high-tech, environmentally friendly projects that are less labor-intensive and generate high added value. At the same time, it favors projects with strong connectivity with other enterprises to form symbiotic chains for sustainable development. Accordingly, the city will reject projects that pose risks of environmental pollution, use outdated technology, or rely heavily on labor. This is a consistent objective that lays the foundation for Dong Nai to develop a green and sustainable economy.
Recently, the Executive Committee of the City Party Committee issued Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU, launching a special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign under the theme “Solidarity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough, building Dong Nai into a civilized and modern city,” with continued implementation and quality improvement toward 2030. To realize this goal, each department, sector, and locality has developed implementation plans with specific and decisive actions to successfully achieve double-digit growth. However, to welcome high-quality capital flows into major projects that generate high added value, the city needs to accelerate the progress of transport projects connecting to the airport and industrial parks, invest in infrastructure for new industrial parks, prepare clean land funds, strengthen administrative procedure reform, and train high-quality human resources.
In this fourth wave of FDI attraction, the focus is no longer merely on the number of projects or total registered capital. What Dong Nai is aiming for is the quality of capital flows and the efficiency they bring to the economy in the years ahead. This is also the way for the locality to build a modern, highly competitive, and sustainably growing industrial economy, becoming a new growth pole of the country.
