(ĐN) – On August 11, the dismantling of the Dong Nai Bridge toll station on National Highway 1, in the section passing through Dong Nai City, officially began.

At the construction site, the units are dismantling the toll station facilities section by section while maintaining traffic diversion measures to ensure safe and continuous traffic flow along National Highway 1.

The T3 toll station area, in the direction from Dong Nai City to Ho Chi Minh City, was the first area to undergo dismantling.

According to observations, during the dismantling work on the morning of August 11, traffic through the toll station area remained stable, with no congestion occurring. Vehicles were regulated according to the planned traffic management scheme, thereby minimizing disruption to traffic during construction.

According to Mr. Kiều Vũ Hiệp, Head of Road Management Office IV.2 under Road Management Area IV, the traffic organization plan has been calculated for each construction phase, with the consistent requirement of providing sufficient working space for the dismantling contractor while maintaining traffic flow on National Highway 1. During construction, four traffic lanes will remain open. Depending on each phase, the lanes may be adjusted to facilitate construction. After a section is completed, the road surface will be restored to resume traffic flow before moving on to the next section.

According to the plan, the dismantling and restoration of the toll station area will be carried out in the coming period, with the aim of completing the work before September 2. After this deadline, finishing works such as road marking and asphalt paving will continue.

The project to construct Dong Nai Bridge and the two approach roads from Tan Van Intersection to the end of the Bien Hoa Bypass, under a BOT (Build – Operate – Transfer) contract, was established as state-owned property by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) under Decision No. 1770/QD-BGTVT dated December 29, 2023. The dismantling of the Dong Nai Bridge toll station is being carried out based on the decision of the Director General of the Vietnam Road Administration permitting the preparation of public investment for repair works under the 2026 plan for the management, operation, exploitation, and maintenance of road infrastructure, as well as Decision No. 508/QD-KQLDB IV dated July 9, 2026, issued by Road Management Area IV approving the contractor selection results for the dismantling of the Dong Nai Bridge toll station on National Highway 1 in the section passing through Dong Nai City.
