Dong Nai clinches 6th place in Vietnam’s e-commerce leaderboard
(DN) – The Vietnam E-commerce Association (Vecom) officially released the Vietnam E-commerce Index (EBI) 2026 Report during the Vietnam Online Business Forum 2026 (VOBF 2026), held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 29.
The EBI 2026 Report was compiled based on a comprehensive survey of thousands of enterprises and individuals nationwide, alongside data sourced from various regulatory bodies and organizations. Notably, this marks the first time the sub-national e-commerce index evaluation has expanded to cover 34 provinces and municipalities.

According to the newly released report, Ho Chi Minh City continues to anchor its position at the top of the national leaderboard with a commanding score of 91.1 points. Hanoi secured the second spot with 87.5 points, followed by Da Nang in third place with 22.3 points. Bac Ninh and Hai Phong ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. Meanwhile, Dong Nai registered an e-commerce index score of nearly 17.4 points, placing sixth nationwide, well above this year's national average of 15.8 points.
This marks the 10th consecutive year that Dong Nai has successfully sustained its position within the country's top 10 e-commerce performers. In recent years, Dong Nai’s e-commerce market has witnessed robust expansion. Local authorities have proactively rolled out targeted action programs and strategic blueprints aimed at driving the digital economy, with e-commerce serving as a pivotal growth engine.

The Vietnam E-commerce Index is synthesized from three core component pillars: human resources and information technology (IT) infrastructure; business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce transactions; and business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce transactions.
