Over the past years, Japanese enterprises have made significant contributions to socio-economic development, generating employment for workers and driving the development of local industry, trade, and services—particularly the city's supporting industries. Currently, Dong Nai stands as a trusted destination for Japanese businesses.
Attractive Investment Environment
At a working session with leaders of the Dong Nai City People's Committee, Mr. Kume Kunihide, Chairman of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH), assessed that Dong Nai City is attracting great interest from Japanese enterprises. Japanese firms in Dong Nai have consistently maintained operations and continuously expanded their production scale.
Notably, several projects have been expanded with increased investment capital, such as the project by YKK Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Park (IP), which officially commenced construction on the Phase 3 expansion of its Nhon Trach factory. For YKK Group, the facility in Dong Nai is not merely a manufacturing plant but also a technology and production hub for the ASEAN region, as well as a strategic base on a global scale.
In addition, other major projects include the kickoff of the Olympus Group's Factory Project (Long Thanh IP) and the ground-breaking ceremony of Long Duc 3 IP by Sojitz Group in Binh An Commune. The Long Duc 3 IP project is highly expected to generate a new wave of investment into Dong Nai for Japanese firms. Furthermore, in 2026, several Japanese enterprises are projected to break ground on factory constructions in Dong Nai.
Dong Nai City currently hosts investments from 51 countries and territories with nearly 2.3 thousand projects, totaling over USD 45 billion in registered capital. Dong Nai possesses a synchronous transport infrastructure system featuring all 5 modes of transportation: road, air, rail, maritime, and inland waterway. Highlights include Long Thanh International Airport, Phuoc An Port, alongside 10 expressway routes that have been, are being, and will be deployed across the city.
Mr. Kume Kunihide stated that there are currently about 50 Japanese enterprises interested in and demanding to expand cooperative relationships with Vietnamese enterprises. According to him, over the recent period, along with the construction progress of Long Thanh Airport and its connecting transport infrastructure system, Dong Nai is expected to strongly attract investment in logistics, urban development, and services...
Mr. Ota Shinji, Deputy Head of the Japanese Business Group in Dong Nai (under JCCH) and a business owner operating in Dong Nai, shared that he has noticed remarkable breakthroughs in local transport infrastructure over the past years. This has helped him shorten his daily commute from home to work. Having been a member of the Dong Nai business community group since 2025, he can feel that the group is growing with more members. Mr. Ota Shinji asserted that businesses will strive to contribute more to the development of Dong Nai City, while also hoping the city will support enterprises in attracting human resources.
Accompanying Enterprises
Dong Nai is one of the leading industrial development localities in the country. The city is planning more than 90 industrial parks, high-tech zones, and economic zones spanning tens of thousands of hectares.
To attract investors to Dong Nai, Mr. Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee, shared that city leaders commit to always supporting and accompanying enterprises throughout their development process in the area. Over the years, Dong Nai has attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth billions of dollars. In the coming period, Dong Nai will continue to step up transport infrastructure investment while synchronously developing logistics, services, and urban infrastructure to enhance the attractiveness of the investment environment.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long believed that this is a favorable opportunity for investors. City People's Committee leaders hope the business community will proactively seize opportunities, accelerate investment, and expand production and business activities in Dong Nai. The city is re-planning the entire urban area within a 100km radius around Long Thanh Airport. Therefore, city leaders call upon enterprises, including Japanese investors operating in the aviation sector, to soon promote and deploy projects in Dong Nai.
Alongside the industrial parks in the South, Dong Nai City is also encouraging and inviting enterprises to invest in northern Dong Nai across various sectors. Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long emphasized that the city offers many incentive policies for investing in industrial parks in northern Dong Nai; although they are not close to airports or seaports, they possess advantages in land rental costs, material utilization, and agricultural product processing. Therefore, Japanese investors can research project development in northern Dong Nai.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long affirmed: "City leaders commit to providing the most favorable support for first-time investing enterprises, from researching locations to deploying projects regarding investment procedures."
