The awarding of the First-Class Labor Order is a recognition by the Party and State of Dong Nai’s outstanding contributions in its process of development and integration. From the land of Tran Bien – Bien Hoa, rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, Dong Nai has risen to become one of the country’s major centers of industry, trade and services, playing the role of a dynamic growth pole in the Southeast region.

In addition to its outstanding economic achievements, Dong Nai is also a land rich in patriotic tradition, bringing together many distinctive cultural values as well as the compassionate, generous and hospitable qualities of the people of the eastern part of Southern Vietnam. This is considered an important foundation for Dong Nai City to continue striving toward the goal of civilized, modern and sustainable development in the new stage.

At the ceremony, the artistic epic program Dong Nai – Southern Spirit, Rising with the Nation was staged elaborately, recreating the 328-year journey of formation and development of Dong Nai land from 1698 to 2026. The program opened with an artistic space recreating the early days of Southern land expansion, when Marshal Nguyen Huu Canh entered the region to administer it, established Phuoc Long District, set up Tran Bien garrison, and laid the foundation for affirming sovereignty and developing Dong Nai and Southern Vietnam.

The flow of history continued to be portrayed through the periods of resistance against French colonialists and American imperialists, with many heroic milestones such as the Phu Rieng Do movement, War Zone D, the Dong Xoai victory, the attack on Long Binh Depot, the feats of the Rung Sac Special Forces, and the Road 14 – Phuoc Long victory. Notably, the program devoted significant time to recreating the Xuan Loc victory, a battle of strategic significance that opened the “steel gate” for our forces to advance toward the liberation of Saigon in 1975.

Alongside the historical journey, the artistic epic also portrayed Dong Nai’s appearance in the period of integration and development. From a land facing hardships after the war, Dong Nai has risen to become an important growth pole of the country, a modern center of industry, logistics, services and aviation, and the seventh city of Vietnam.

The program concluded with the image of the Dong Nai River flowing endlessly, carrying the spirit of ancestors blended with today’s aspiration for development. Singer Pham Thu Ha performed the song Đêm thành phố đầy sao by musician Tran Long An as a message of confidence in the future of Dong Nai City in the new era.
