(DN) – On the afternoon of August 20, Standing Committee Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee Le Truong Son chaired a meeting with relevant departments and agencies to review the implementation of the proposed list of strategic technologies and strategic technology products for Dong Nai City in 2026–2030.

The meeting was attended by leaders and representatives of relevant departments and agencies, as well as experts and scientists from Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and universities in Dong Nai.

According to the Department of Science and Technology, following directions from the Dong Nai City People’s Committee and guidance from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the department reviewed, compiled, and proposed a list of 18 strategic technology products for implementation in Dong Nai during 2026–2030. These products are expected to address major challenges in digital economy development, high-tech industry, high-tech agriculture, biomedical technology, and other fields.

At the meeting, representatives of relevant agencies, experts, and scientists discussed and clarified the necessity and suitability of the 18 products to the city’s actual needs. They also proposed necessary additions and adjustments, as well as specific technological solutions. Representatives of relevant agencies shared local difficulties and obstacles and made recommendations concerning the development of strategic technology products.

The meeting also clarified the requirements, key objectives, and main targets to be achieved for each proposed product; improved the efficiency of application, technology transfer, and commercialization; and proposed coordination mechanisms, resources, and solutions for effectively implementing the strategic technology development program.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Committee Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People’s Committee Le Truong Son emphasized that relevant departments and agencies need to strengthen coordination and actively participate in identifying and implementing strategic technology products in specific fields. He also highlighted the importance of improving the effectiveness of the “three-party” model (Government – institutes/universities – businesses).

The city’s leadership requested the Department of Science and Technology to take the lead in working with research institutes and universities, including Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and universities in the city, as well as conducting field surveys to discuss, clarify, and reach agreement on proposals related to strategic technology development and the implementation of specific strategic technology products suitable for local conditions and development needs.

The Department of Science and Technology was also asked to regularly monitor and promptly update progress, advising the city’s People’s Committee on resolving difficulties and obstacles. This will contribute to finalizing the proposed list of strategic technologies and strategic technology products to be implemented in Dong Nai City, before submitting it to the Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Development of Dong Nai City for consideration and then to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
