Fuel prices continue to decline
On the afternoon of June 4, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance joint committee executed its scheduled weekly retail petrol and oil price adjustment. Prices for multiple types of fuel continued to downward trend during this retail review cycle.

During this executive cycle, the joint committee sustained provisions for the Petrol and Oil Price Stabilization Fund but desisted from disbursing expenditures from the fund for all petroleum commodities. Accordingly, the appropriation rate for the Petrol and Oil Price Stabilization Fund, sourced from state budget advances, was applied at 500 VND per liter for biofuel, 300 VND per liter for diesel oil, and 300 VND per kg for mazut oil.
Following the execution of provisions and disbursements regarding the Petrol and Oil Price Stabilization Fund, maximum ceiling prices for popular consumer petroleum products on the market were adjusted downward across the board, effective from 15:00 on June 4.
Specifically, E5 RON 92 petrol dropped by 1,474 VND per liter, bringing its retail price to no higher than 21,784 VND per liter; diesel oil decreased by 785 VND per liter, putting the maximum retail cap at 26,866 VND per liter; and mazut oil fell by 797 VND per kg, settling at 19,645 VND per kg.
Since June 1, all mineral petrol (unleaded petrol) RON 95 has been blended with 10% ethanol to form E10 petrol prior to market commercialization. Meanwhile, E5 RON 92 petrol will continue to be maintained through the end of 2030. However, during today's regulatory session, the joint committee had not yet officially announced the base price for E10 petrol. According to prices published by key wholesale enterprises, E10 RON 95-III petrol slid by approximately 1,330 VND per liter, reaching a level of 22,330 VND per liter.
From the end of February 2026 to date, domestic fuel prices have undergone 24 adjustment cycles. Among these, E5 and RON 95 petrol climbed 11 times, dropped 11 times, and remained unchanged twice; diesel oil escalated 10 times, decreased 12 times, and held flat for 2 adjustment periods.
