Gold bar prices fall to VND166 million per tael ahead of the holiday period

Gold prices in Dong Nai continue to decline ahead of the April 30 and May 1 holidays

As of the afternoon of April 29 in Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai, prices of gold bars and gold rings continued their downward trend ahead of the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

Specifically, SJC gold bars were listed at VND 163 million per tael for buying and VND 166 million per tael for selling, down VND 1.5 million per tael on both sides compared to the previous session. The spread between buying and selling prices remained at VND 3 million per tael.

Following the same trend, DOJI’s Au Vang Phuc Long gold was traded at VND 163 million per tael for buying and VND 166 million per tael for selling, down VND 1.5 million per tael compared to the previous session’s close.

Meanwhile, PNJ gold bars were listed at VND 162.6 million per tael for buying and VND 165.6 million per tael for selling, down VND 1.9 million per tael compared to the previous day.

In the gold ring segment, DOJI’s 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong round rings were priced at VND 16.25 million per chi for buying and VND 16.55 million per chi for selling, equivalent to VND 165.5 million per tael, down VND 200,000 per chi compared to the previous session.

PNJ plain rings were listed at VND 16.26 - 16.56 million per chi for buying and selling, while SJC 9999 plain rings were traded at VND 16.25 - 16.55 million per chi.

The decline in domestic gold prices ahead of the holiday period indicates that the precious metals market is continuing to adjust after a period of strong volatility. The relatively wide buying-selling spread also reflects cautious sentiment among gold trading enterprises amid potentially fluctuating demand during the holiday period.
