Gold Prices Continue Sharp Decline, SJC Gold Bars Retail at 153.2 Million VND/Tael

(DN) - On June 5, in Tran Bien Ward (Dong Nai City), prices for various types of gold bars and gold rings continued their steep downward trajectory.

By the end of June 5, SJC gold bars were rated at 149.2 million VND/tael for buying and 153.2 million VND/tael for selling, marking a decline of 4.8 million VND/tael on the buying side and a drop of nearly 4 million VND/tael on the selling side compared to mid-week. The bid-ask spread widened to 4 million VND/tael.

Similarly, PNJ gold bar prices stood at 150.2 million VND/tael (buying) and 153.2 million VND/tael (selling), down approximately 3.8 million VND/tael from mid-week. "Au Vang Phuc Long" gold bars by Doji Jewelry Group were quoted at 149.2 million VND/tael for buying and 153.2 million VND/tael for selling, sliding 4.8 million VND/tael on the buying side and dropping nearly 4 million VND/tael on the selling side compared to mid-week.

Prices for various gold rings also fell on June 5. Specifically, Doji Jewelry Group’s 9999 round rings (Hung Thinh Vuong) traded at 14.92 million VND/chi for buying and 15.32 million VND/chi for selling (equivalent to 153.2 million VND/tael), down more than 380,000 to 480,000 VND/chi from mid-week. PNJ plain rings recorded a buying-selling rate of 15.02–15.32 million VND/chi, respectively. SJC 9999 plain rings registered at 14.9–15.3 million VND/chi for buying and selling, respectively.
