Residents’ willingness to hand over land has become the key factor in accelerating the Phase 1 Nguyen Thai Hoc Road Upgrade, Expansion, and Drainage Improvement Project in Trang Dai Ward, Dong Nai City.

With a total investment of nearly VND 67 billion, the Nguyen Thai Hoc Road Upgrade Project is being implemented by the People's Committee of Trang Dai Ward. The project affects nearly 300 households, many of whom have proactively dismantled structures and cleared their properties to facilitate construction.

Strong Community Support

The family of Mrs. Doan Thi Ngoc, a resident of Quarter 4 in Trang Dai Ward, has approximately 200 square meters of land within the project's clearance area. In recent days, her family has been busy dismantling fences and removing assets from the site to hand over the land as soon as possible.

"We are delighted that the road is being widened. Everyone hopes to have a broader and more modern road. Therefore, my family, along with many other households living along the route, fully supports the project and is making every effort to hand over the site quickly so construction can proceed as soon as possible," Mrs. Ngoc shared.

Like Mrs. Ngoc’s family, Mr. Phan Van Sy, also from Quarter 4, has been working to dismantle structures and clear his property for the contractor.

According to Mr. Sy, upgrading the road will not only improve the urban landscape but also contribute to the area's overall development. His family has therefore made every effort to complete the site handover promptly.

"We are very pleased that the project is moving forward and are fully prepared to hand over our land to support construction. We hope appropriate support measures will be considered to ensure a fair balance of interests and facilitate the land clearance process."

In mid-June 2026, the People's Committee of Trang Dai Ward held a public dialogue with households whose land and properties fall within the project boundary. Hoping to see the road upgraded and expanded as soon as possible, residents expressed strong support for the project. Immediately after the meeting, many affected households began dismantling structures and clearing their belongings to expedite site handover. This strong public consensus has significantly accelerated site preparation while reducing the workload of local authorities responsible for land clearance and public outreach.

Accelerating Project Progress

Nguyen Thai Hoc Road is one of the main transportation arteries of Trang Dai Ward, one of Dong Nai City's most densely populated areas. However, its narrow and deteriorating roadway, combined with steadily increasing traffic volumes, has long caused congestion and negatively affected both the environment and residents' daily lives.

After more than 20 years of service, the road has developed numerous problems. During heavy rains, flooding and muddy conditions occur frequently, while in the dry season, thick dust severely impacts both daily life and business activities. The deteriorating infrastructure has not only hindered transportation but also posed traffic safety risks and diminished the area's urban appearance. In response, local authorities launched the Nguyen Thai Hoc Road Upgrade Project.

Le Kim Huong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Trang Dai Ward, said that the existing roadway is only 5–6 meters wide. Upon completion, it will be expanded to 9 meters, with sidewalks measuring 5 meters on each side. Regarding project implementation, the contractor selection process has already been completed, and construction is expected to begin in late August or early September 2026.

According to Mr. Huong, one of the project's greatest advantages has been the strong support from local residents for land clearance and site handover.

He added that land acquisition is often the most difficult and complex stage of transportation infrastructure projects. However, thanks to the cooperation and consensus of local residents, the implementation of this project has progressed much more smoothly.
