Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet, Chairwoman of the Strategic and Policy Advisory Council (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics) and Head of the Expert Advisory Team, chaired the meeting. Also attending were Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Thanh Phong, along with scientists and representatives of relevant organizations.

Accordingly, 18 research topics in the fields of economics, public policy, and financial management were proposed for the Expert Advisory Team to review, evaluate, and select. Of these, 16 were proposed projects and 2 were commissioned application-oriented projects.

At the meeting, the Expert Advisory Team noted that several proposed topics were novel, being implemented in the city for the first time, and had strong potential for practical application. The team also focused on analyzing and critically reviewing issues related to the applicability of research findings from the proposed topics, while reviewing them to avoid duplication among different tasks and research projects.

According to the Department of Science and Technology, a thorough review of proposed science and technology tasks helps ensure that scientific research projects are focused, highly applicable, and aligned with the development orientations for science, technology, and innovation. It also helps determine maximum funding levels for relevant science, technology, and innovation tasks.
