The Golden Time for Investors to Come to Dong Nai

According to economic experts, Dong Nai City is becoming one of the most attractive destinations for domestic and international investors, as it brings together many key advantages, including all five modes of transport, increasingly synchronized strategic infrastructure, well-planned industrial parks, and favorable investment attraction policies.

Along with major infrastructure improvements, the locality has also made a strong impression after the Executive Committee of the City Party Committee recently issued Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU on launching a special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign under the theme “Solidarity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough, building Dong Nai into a civilized and modern city,” with continued implementation and quality enhancement toward 2030. In addition, resolutions and decrees issued by the Politburo and the Government have also contributed to creating a favorable investment environment for Dong Nai.

Coming to Dong Nai to Seek Investment Opportunities

In the first six months of the year, Dong Nai continuously welcomed enterprises, economic groups, ambassadors, and consuls general from countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, and China to visit and explore the local investment environment. During these meetings, representatives of countries and businesses expressed their desire to cooperate and carry out investment activities in the city.

Ms. Fleur Goote, Executive Director of the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam, said that what enterprises care about most is regional connectivity advantages as well as geographical advantages. Dong Nai is a locality that Dutch businesses believe offers many development opportunities.

According to Ms. Fleur Goote, Dutch enterprises are highly interested in various sectors, including logistics, food security, food processing, and energy. The association has always accompanied and supported Dutch enterprises in exploring opportunities and investing in Vietnam. With its great potential and ample room for development, Dong Nai is opening up many new cooperation opportunities. Dutch businesses are ready to connect, invest, and accompany the city in its development in the coming period.

Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi, Vice Chairman of the Japanese Business Association and Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) office in Ho Chi Minh City, said that based on information about Dong Nai City, JETRO will connect and coordinate with the Japanese Business Association to organize introduction sessions on Dong Nai’s potential, mechanisms, and policies for the Japanese investor community, encouraging them to explore and invest in the city.

Dong Nai City’s leaders affirmed that the city will always accompany and support investors, with particular attention given to solutions for retaining workers. The city is focusing on implementing social housing projects, worker housing, and rental housing in line with the Government’s policy. At the same time, it will continue to develop more housing areas near industrial parks to help workers stabilize their lives, feel secure in their jobs, and remain committed to enterprises in the long term.

Opportunities for Investors

Dong Nai possesses many advantages that investors are looking for, notably its synchronously planned and invested transport infrastructure, which creates strong momentum for breakthrough development. This can be considered the most important factor positioning Dong Nai as a transportation hub of the Southeast region, with a series of strategic projects such as Long Thanh Airport, expressways, road systems connecting seaports and industrial parks, and a sustainably planned industrial park ecosystem.

In addition, Dong Nai is aiming to become a new growth pole of the country, with a large remaining land fund for development and competitive investment costs. The local government continues to accelerate administrative procedure reform and proactively attract investment in projects with high-quality capital flows and environmentally friendly orientations.

Sharing the city’s perspective during meetings with foreign investors, Mr. Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Dong Nai City People’s Committee, consistently emphasized that Dong Nai is calling for investment in high technology, semiconductor technology, and environmentally friendly projects in industrial parks across the city. At the same time, the city is seeking investment in high-tech agriculture in industrial parks in the northern area. In addition, areas surrounding the airport have been planned for airport urban zones, contributing to the development of services, logistics, restaurants, and hotels.

Dong Nai currently attracts the attention of many investors, but the city remains careful and selective in choosing projects. The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee affirmed that Dong Nai’s investment attraction policy, both now and in the future, prioritizes projects that do not cause environmental pollution and use less low-skilled labor. Dong Nai gives priority to projects with high land-use efficiency, large investment capital, and reasonable land use, contributing to higher added value. In general, investment projects in Dong Nai must meet the criteria of modern, clean, and green technology.
