Viettel supports customers in quickly and conveniently verifying subscriber information.
From April 15, 2026, Circular No. 08/2026/TT-BKHCN on the authentication of subscriber registration and usage information for mobile phone numbers officially takes effect nationwide. Under this regulation, mobile subscribers are required to have their information fully verified and matched across four key data fields: personal identification number, full name, date of birth, and facial biometric data. This information must correspond with the National Population Database or the national identification database.
Actively investing in technology to enable faster and more convenient customer verification
Recognizing that this regulation has a significant impact on users nationwide, Viettel Telecommunications Corporation (Viettel Telecom) has proactively deployed technological solutions early to support customers in completing subscriber information verification in a fast, convenient, and secure manner.

Thousands of subscriber information verification support points nationwide. |
Subscriber information verification support activities are being implemented across Viettel’s network of supermarkets, retail stores, and authorized outlets nationwide. At the same time, Viettel is also collaborating with authorized retail chains such as The Gioi Di Dong, FPT Shop, and CellphoneS to expand additional customer service and support points, making it easier for people to access services at the nearest locations.
In particular, from April 12, 2026, Viettel Telecom has launched a nationwide campaign, deploying mobile support points in residential areas far from stores, as well as in remote and isolated regions. This initiative brings services closer to citizens, especially those who face difficulties in traveling or using technology.
The combination of digital platforms, fixed transaction points, and mobile support teams demonstrates Viettel’s commitment to helping customers comply with the new regulation in the most convenient, fastest, and most suitable way for different real-life conditions.
Not all customers are required to re-verify
Viettel also notes that not all customers are required to repeat the verification process. The groups considered already verified include:
- Phone numbers used to register a Level 2 VNeID electronic identification account.
- Phone numbers previously verified through chip-based Citizen ID/CCCD scanning or data sharing from Level 2 VNeID when registering services or performing post-sale transactions on the My Viettel app or at transaction points.
On April 13, 2026, Viettel proactively sent notification messages to these customers confirming that their subscriber information has already been verified in accordance with regulations. These customers are not required to take any further action and can continue using services normally. Other customers are required to complete facial biometric verification as regulated.
After April 15, 2026, customers can check their subscriber status via:
- My Viettel application;
- VNeID application under the “Documents Wallet – Phone Number” section to review SIMs registered under their name;
- Or contact Viettel’s hotline for customer support assistance.
Protecting registered SIM ownership, reducing fraud and impersonation risks
Subscriber information verification under Circular 08 is an important step in cleaning telecommunications data and enhancing user protection. Today, phone numbers are not only used for communication but are also linked to many essential digital services such as bank accounts, e-wallets, Level 2 VNeID accounts, and various electronic transactions.
Full verification, including facial biometrics, helps prevent the use of fake documents and unauthorized SIM registration for fraudulent purposes. It also contributes to protecting users’ rights and minimizing legal risks caused by impersonation or misuse of subscriber identities.
To encourage early compliance, Viettel is offering a promotion: a bonus of 50,000 VND to customers’ accounts for on-net calls and free data usage after successful verification. The program runs from April 15 to June 15, 2026.
100% free and fraud warning
Viettel Telecom confirms that the entire process of information updating, standardization, and facial biometric verification is completely free of charge. Customers are not required to pay any fees to the operator or any supporting individuals.
At the same time, Viettel warns customers to stay vigilant against scams exploiting the implementation of Circular 08. Citizens should never provide OTP codes, passwords, or bank account information; avoid clicking on suspicious links sent via SMS, Zalo, or social media; and do not install applications from unofficial sources.
Government agencies and telecommunications providers will never ask citizens to provide OTPs, passwords, or transfer money in order to complete subscriber information verification.
